Five steps from no wallet to using $APEX on APEX Rising. Take your time. Nothing here needs to be done fast.

Get a self-custody wallet and protect your recovery phrase.
Choose a wallet. Two common choices that work with Cronos: Crypto.com Onchain (formerly called the DeFi Wallet; a separate app from the Crypto.com App) and MetaMask. Download only from the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing or the wallet's official website (crypto.com and metamask.io). Search ads and look-alike apps are a common trap.
Write your recovery phrase (12 or 24 words) on paper, in order, and keep it somewhere safe and private. Consider two copies in two safe places.
Never type your recovery phrase into any website, form or chat. Never screenshot it or store it in photos, notes, email or cloud drives. Never share it with anyone.
APEX Rising will never DM you first and will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key or password. Anyone who does is a scammer.
Use a separate wallet with a small balance for trying new sites. Keep most of your funds in a wallet you don't connect to new sites.
Check the address bar before you connect: the only APEX site is apexrising.io. Bookmark it.

Common scams to watch for:
$APEX lives on Cronos EVM. Add it to your wallet.
Crypto.com Onchain has Cronos built in. In MetaMask you may need to add it.

Buy CRO on an exchange and send it to your wallet on Cronos EVM.
Buy CRO on Crypto.com or another exchange you trust that is available where you live. Exchanges have their own identity checks and fees.
Withdraw the CRO to your wallet address. Choose the network Cronos EVM (sometimes shown as Cronos or CRO-EVM).
Pick the right network. CRO also exists on other networks (for example Cronos POS or Ethereum). Sending on the wrong network can mean the funds don't arrive in your wallet or are lost.
Send a small test amount first. When it shows up in your wallet, send the rest.
Keep a little CRO in the wallet to pay network fees (gas) for swaps.
Copy your own wallet address from inside your wallet app, not from an old message or transaction list. Check the first 6 and last 6 characters.
Swap CRO for $APEX and make sure it's the real token.

WolfSwap is a separate Cronos platform. Check the URL and the token contract before you swap.
Open WolfSwapSlippage is how much the price can move between your quote and the moment your swap goes through. A low setting (0.5% to 1%) protects you but can fail when the price moves. A higher setting goes through more easily but you may get less. Our Buy APEX box lets you pick 0.5%, 1%, 2% or 3%.
Always read the minimum received line before you confirm. If a site ever asks you to approve or sign something you don't understand, stop.
Add $APEX to your wallet so you can see it: In your wallet, choose Import token or Add custom token, select the Cronos network, and paste the contract above. Symbol APEX and decimals 18 should fill in from the contract. If they don't match, don't add it.
APEX Rising does not sell $APEX. You swap on open Cronos platforms and you sign every swap yourself.
